Sunday Snippets - Daisy Tag

Hi there Playmates!

For my homework this week, I used a few snippets up in order to make a little tag.

The tag shape was kindly sent to me by a lovely blog friend (you know who you are) and I'm pretty sure it was cut from snippets too! But even if it wasn't, everything I glued to the tag certainly was!

Materials:

  • Tag: unbranded tag die (likely to be Temu)
  • Grey snippet: die cut using a Heffy Doodle Stitched Squares die
  • Brown daisy: die cut using a Marianne Designs die
  • White flower: from Sizzex Tattered Florals set (mini version)
  • Julie Hickey Glossies for the grey gem in the flower centre
  • Background stamp: ancient, but I think it's by Kaisercraft.

I have published RESULTS from the previous challenge, so please hop over to the SNIPPETS PLAYGROUND to admire the top picks and discover which lucky playmate won the prize. There's still nearly a week left to play in the current challenge if you haven't already done so.

I would also like to enter this tag into the current TAG-ALONG & ATCs CHALLENGE under the anything goes option. It’s not a colourful tag, but I DO like neutrals together.

Floral Tag

Hi there!

I made a double die-cut tag to enter into the current TAG-ALONG & ATCs Challenge where they want you to share your favourite colour for your tag, bookmark or AT coin/card. Now, in truth, I love all colours, but blue is my absolute favourite, especially turquoise and teal, but I also love purple. So, this tag is my second favourite colour, along with a touch of bright pink.

Die-cut tag

Materials:

  • Stitched Label Rectangle dies (D180117) by Gummiapan, held together with a eyelet which was set with my Crop-A-Dile tool.
  • Daisy dies by Marianne Designs (cut from snippets of an ugly journal page).
  • Julie Hickey Glossies dome in flower centre.
  • Strip of text from PaperArtsy JOFY Set 102.

Mini moo cards

I was using up some snippets and made three Mini moo cards which I am entering into THE LITTLE THINGS CHALLENGE #5 where it is ANYTHING GOES.

Mini moo cards (1.1" x 2.75” each)

Then I found a couple of blank tags that were already die-cut, so I added a bit of background stamping, then used two of the above Mini moos to add as focal points. I also added orange gems to the centres of the blue flowers.

Long Sunday Snippets Post, so grab a cuppa!

Hi Playmates!

I'm hosting a new challenge over at the SNIPPETS PLAYGROUND for the next fortnight. So why not use up some snippets on your homework, then come over to the Playground for a 'show and tell' via Mr Linky.

I made a little journal to share with you - which you can WIN as part of the Snippets Playground prize - along with a “pre-loved” Stampin' Up! stamp set. We normally offer you brand new prizes, but to help make our pocket money go further, Di and I have taken the decision to occasionally offer pre-loved items that are in “as new” condition.

The journal measures 3.75" wide and 4.5" high. Below are photo's of each page.

Journal cover

Pages 1 & 2 (with pockets and tags)

Pages 3 & 4 (with pocket & ephemera as well as a band to hold things)

Pages 5 & 6 (with a band to hold tags &
a little envelope pocket with a velcro dot closure)

Pages 7 & 8 (space to write on the left and
another couple of pockets with ephemera on the right)

Pages 9 & 10 (with a flap and a pocket)

Pages 11 & 12 (spaces to write or add ephemera)

Pages 13 & 14 (pocket and writing space)

Pages 15 & 16 (lift up flap and writing space)

Pages 17 & 18 (pocket with tags & space to write)

Presented in a custom-made box

I had a lot of fun making this journal with snippets of Craft O'Clock's Warm Breeze papers and some recycled brown paper. I hope whoever wins the journal enjoys using it or gifting it.

Sunday Snippets - Dragonfly Tag

Hi Playmates!

There's a new challenge to play along with over at the SNIPPETS PLAYGROUND hosted by Miss Di for the next fortnight.

For my homework I made a tag using a die set I was delighted to win at the Tag Along & ATC Challenge recently.

The finished tag

Below is a photo of the inner piece of the tag before I mounted it onto the outer piece and added the dragonfly and sentiment.

Believe it or not, the inner piece was WHITE before I brushed it with three different Distress Oxide inks, added some stencilling; some white modelling paste (which turned a bit green as I was too impatient to wait for the inks to dry) and some white splatters (using watered down white acrylic paint).

Then it was just a case of stamping and die-cutting the dragonfly and colouring it with Posca pens. I used the same Posca pens to colour a few of the modelling paste squares and added some dots. Then I glued everything together, punched a hole and added the twine before stamping and distressing the edges of the sentiment and glueing it in place. The sentiment IS on straight - it’s the modelling paste squares that are a bit wonky!

MATERIALS:

  • DIES: “Taggletastic" tag die set #30 by Aall & Create (white snippet used for inner piece);
  • “Dragonfly” stamp and die set by Hazel Eaton for Studio Light (part of a Dragonfly Dreams suite) (stamped onto a white snippet).
  • STENCILS: Funky Fossil “Grid” stencil (with modelling paste scraped through it); “Geometric Floral” stencil by Funky Fossil and “Flower Power #8” stencil by Uniko, both brushed with darker green Distress Oxide ink.
  • SENTIMENT from the "Tall Grass" set by Funky Fossil (stamped onto a snippet of SU Tip Top Taupe card leftover from cutting the outer tag.)
  • Posca pens and Distress Oxide inks for all COLOURING.
I would like to enter this tag into the following challenges:
  1. ALLSORTS CHALLENGE #845 under the theme of Things With Wings;
  2. WE LOVE STAMPING March Challenge under Wildlife theme/Anything Goes
  3. TAG ALONG & ATCs March Challenge under Anything Goes

Daisy Tag

Hi there!

I made a cute tag with one of the scallop edged tag dies I won from the Tag-Along challenge a while back.

Details:

  • Supersized Nestables Scalloped Tag dies by Creative Craft Products
  • Penny Black “Crossing Bridges” wooden stamp 3206J, coloured in with watercolour pencils and some poetic licence, as I wanted the daisies to match those on the patterned paper!
  • Patterned paper from Craft O’Clock’s “Warm Breeze” pad.
  • Sentiment stamp by Uniko.
  • Stitching stamp is part of a set by Carabelle.
I would like to enter the tag into the following challenges:
  1. TAG-ALONG & ATCs (inc bookmarks) - under the optional theme of Spring Flowers (the daisies)
  2. WE LOVE STAMPING - under the optional theme of Wildlife (the mouse)
  3. STAMPING SENSATIONS - under the optional theme of Spring (the daisies)

Sunday Snippets - 19th October 2025

Hi Playmates

Di has published RESULTS from the previous challenge, so please hop over to the SNIPPETS PLAYGROUND to admire her top picks and discover which lucky playmate won the prize. There's still nearly a week left to play in the current challenge if you haven't already done so.

For my homework, I made a tag which I'd like to enter into the October Tag-Along & ATCs Challenge, where the theme is ANYTHING AUTUMN (or anything goes).

I used one of the smaller scalloped tags from the prize I was lucky enough to win from the Tag-Along & ATCs challenge last month, and am entering under the 'anything goes' option as I'm not sure the scene is all that autumnal!

Details:

  • Super Size Nestables Scalloped Tags Die Set by Creative Crafts used to make the tag.
  • The tag was cut from a snippet of acrylic paper & the ribbon is also a snippet (probably a clothes tag in a previous life!).
  • Inks: Faded Jeans & Chipped Sapphire Distress Inks for the sky; Walnut Stain Distress Oxide for the hill and bunny shadows. VFC Pinecone for the rabbits & foliage.
  • Sakura 08 Gelly Roll white pen for highlights.
  • Lavinia stamps used: Mini Leaf 5; Vine; Wild Hares (Large)
  • Other tools: Crop-A-Dile to set the eyelet; torn paper to create hill mask; plastic circle for the moon; "make-up" brushes to add background inking.
I’m off to look for my pumpkin pie recipe as I need a few pies ready for reheating in the Treehouse microwave for when we’re all ravenous after school! Reckon a slice will go down well with a mug of hot chocolate don’t you?! Remember to sign up for Miss Di's Pumpkin Carving Class too!

Two-part swing tag

I wanted to add a tag to the current TAG ALONG & ATCs CHALLENGE where the theme is TRAVEL (or Anything Goes).

I was going through my papers looking for something else, when I happened across some papers with hot air balloons printed on them. "AHA! That will comply with the challenge theme," I thought! So I grabbed a sheet and made a two-part swing tag ready to adorn a birthday present at some point!

The finished swing tag.

The pieces I used for the tag.

Details:

  • Hot air balloon tag, cut from a sheet of paper "extras" from the Craft O'Clock "Warm Breeze" paper pad.
  • Snippet of white card cut to same dimensions as hot air balloon tag and stamped with a PaperArtsy birthday message.
  • Both tags were then tied together with a snippet of raffia.

Sunday Snippets - Tag You're It!

Hi Playmates!

In my satchel this week, I have some cheese and biscuits to go with the mulled wine that's helping to keep us warm and happy up in the treehouse!

For my homework, I made various Christmas tags from snippets of card and paper, and I'm sharing a couple of my favourites with you today.

Both tags were made entirely from snippets of white card and torn bits of patterned paper - with a little stencilling, stamping and die-cut snowflakes to decorate.

Paper Snippets

So, why not take a look at your snippets pile, pull a few bits out and see what you can make? Then come over to play in the SNIPPETS PLAYGROUND. At the end of Challenge #495 there will be FOUR lucky prize winners drawn at random and the results will be posted on 29th December.

What's in Sarn's Satchel for Easter?

HAPPY EASTER!

I hope you have plenty of chocolate treats - but if not - please feel free to enjoy the packet of Smarties' Mini Eggs shown below - as they are virtual, they are calorie-free!

As you can see, I've been busy making pockets to fill with Easter treats - my satchel is bulging with them so please help yourself! I learned how to make these from Wendy (Spanish Crafter) via her You Tube video HERE.

Two filled & decorated pockets

The contents and a closer look at the front & back of the tags

If chocolate is not your thing - I have some calorie-free Jelly Baby Chicks for you instead!

Here's another pocket . . . filled with Jelly Baby Chicks
and a couple of bunny die cuts!

I used a whole sheet of 12" x 12" designer paper for each pocket (as I needed WIDE pockets to fit the contents into). However, ALL the tags and embellishments were made from snippets.

Showing how the little credit card sized pieces
slot into the tag base.

The original snippets.
I later die cut 2 more tag bases from
snippets of Island Indigo card & used them instead.

The tag die set I used - think it will be very useful!

I'm hosting a new challenge over at the SNIPPETS PLAYGROUND for the next fortnight. So please have a rummage in your pile of snippets (I KNOW you have some) - make something with them, then come and play! There's a lovely prize on offer, or you can just play for fun.

There'll be an Easter Egg Hunt all around the Playground grounds later this afternoon - so get your bonnets on and your baskets out!
