Sunday Snippets - Sarntangled Card

Hi there Playmates!

I have published RESULTS from the previous challenge, so please hop over to the SNIPPETS PLAYGROUND to admire the top picks and discover which lucky playmate won the prize. There's still nearly a week left to play in the current challenge if you haven't already done so. There’s a lot of skiving going on as entry numbers are low at the moment!

5” square card

I trimmed a white snippet of card to 3” x 3” and tangled on it, then mounted it on to a black snippet of card that was trimmed to 3.25” x 3.25”. It needed something else on the card front, so I stamped my loopy Sarntangle stamp at opposite corners, which worked a treat!

Please feel free to play with your own snippets then come over to the Snippets Playground for Sunday Morning Breakfast Club.

Another Sarntangled ATC

Hi there!

This is my fourth and final entry to the new TAG ALONG & ATCs CHALLENGE. Yes, I know it's another Sarntangled ATC, but . . . I enjoy tangling . . . what can I say?

ATC 2.5" x 3.5"

Details:

  • Snippets of white and black card to make the ATC.
  • Sakura Pigma Micron 01 pen to Sarntangle with.
  • Pencil and a paper stump to add shading.

You've still got a week to join in the fun with a tag or an Artist Trading Card/Coin and there's a lovely prize on offer for one lucky winner.

While you're reading . . . remember that Allsorts' Big Birthday Challenge starts on Saturday and there will be lots of prizes.

Sunday Snippets - Sarntangled ATC

Hi Playmates!

It's been a lovely mini-heatwave here in the UK. Hasn't it been fun splashing about in the paddling pool that Miss Di pulled out and filled up? Plus Dudley has been keeping us supplied with ice creams and lollies. While Di was kept busy blowing her whistle trying to keep order at the pool, I retreated to the shade of the bike sheds where I diligently set up my *AHEM* Lemonade Stand! Nuff said!

Di has published RESULTS from the previous challenge, so please hop over to the SNIPPETS PLAYGROUND to admire her top picks and discover which lucky playmate won the prize. There's still nearly a week left to play in the current challenge if you haven't already done so.

For my homework, I Sarntangled an ATC:

2.5" x 3.5" ATC
Details:
  • Sakura Pigma Micron .01 pen to Sarntangle with.
  • Zentangle® patterns used are: Poke Root; Mooka; Fescue.
  • Snippets = the white and black pieces of card used to create the ATC.

I'm also entering my ATC into the BRAND SPANKING NEW Tag-Along & ATCs challenge run by Brenda, Lynn & Pinky. As it's the first challenge it's ANYTHING GOES on your tag or ATC. Why not check out their rules and play along?

I was honoured to be picked as a Tag Along & ATCs favourite

Tag Along & ATC Challenge

Today sees the start of a NEW MONTHLY BLOG CHALLENGE for ATCs and tags, called TAG ALONG & ATCs run by Brenda, Lynn and Pinky. Each challenge starts on the 1st of the month, with a mid-month inspiration post from the DT on the 14th.

I'm quite excited about it as I make and swap a fair few ATCs and although I don't make many tags until Christmas time, I'm hoping it will encourage me to make them more often.

You can enter up to 4 times per challenge - here's my first entry:

ATC 2.5" x 3.5"

The photo below shows what it looked like with just the outlining done, before I added the doodling & shading:

Details:

  • Snippet of white card to create the ATC.
  • Pink Distress Ink added in patches and splatters with an acetate sheet.
  • Pink areas outlined with black fineliner pen, then doodling added.
  • Pencil and paper stump used for shading.

Wishing Brenda, Lynn and Pinky all the best for their new challenge. I'm sure it will be a great success.

Sunday Snippets, Super Prize & Sarntangling!

Here's wishing you a VERY HAPPY CHRISTMAS.

I'm skipping along to the Snippets Playground to hand in my homework to Miss Di who is hosting a new challenge WITH THE THEME of "Anything BUT Christmas". There is a SUPER DUPER PRIZE up for grabs - CHECK IT OUT HERE then come and play!

My homework is a "Sarntangled" card I made in Art Class:

The snippets used are the central white, pink and black squares, which were cut from slightly larger snippets of card. I have matching "Rose Red" cardstock and ink pad by Stampin Up, so I was able to co-ordinate the splash of colour.

Snippets on Sunday!

Hi Playmates

It's Sunday morning and time for a new fortnight of fun over at the SNIPPETS PLAYGROUND where Challenge 439 has started with Yours Truly in charge!

My homework is a sympathy card, for which I used one of my recently penned Sarntangles.

I drew the tangles on a small white snippet, then mounted them onto a black snippet. The sentiment is by Printworks (no longer in business).

It's been a little chilly of late, so I have been making plenty of Hot Chocolate up in the Playground Treehouse and there's often hot, buttered crumpets in the Sunday Morning Breakfast Club.

I hope you're all busy making your costumes for the Fancy Dress Halloween Party that Di will be hosting at the end of the month! Di and I will be busy decorating the Playground and Treehouse - no doubt with a little help from Dudley!

Allsorts Challenge - Week 645

Hello & welcome!

It's 8am on Saturday, which means it's time for a new ALLSORTS CHALLENGE

I'm delighted to reveal that I've joined the Allsorts Design Team for a while and this is my inaugural post as a team member!

It's Lolo's turn to host the challenge and she's chosen EMBELLISH IT as the theme - which leaves you plenty of scope to add all manner of bits and bobs to your projects!

I made a little pocket wallet and filled it with paper treasures. I embellished the front of the wallet as well as the bookmark that was inserted into one of the pockets.

So, why not head over to the ALLSORTS Challenge HERE to see further details on how to enter. You can also gaze in wonder at the lovely creations made by my talented team mates!

that were inserted into the pockets!

To create this project:

I followed instructions from HERE.

I took a thin A4 sheet of white card and used a brayer to randomly apply acrylic paints across it on both sides. Once dry, I stuck some tiny pieces of newspaper to it with Mod Podge. Then added a little bit of stamping as well as scraping Gesso through a tiny dots stencil. The sheet was then folded up and red liner taper was used to stick the bottom edge together. Die cut embellishments were then added to the front.

While the main pocket wallet was drying, I made the enclosures by merrily brayering paint and adding stamping to more snippets of white card. I heat embossed  images with clear EP and also doodled with a white gel pen. Added  snippets of black card for the matting. I even used some ribbon on the bookmark!

A change is as good as a rest!

Welcome to this week's blog post.

Instead of a card, I have a few doodles to show you. The process of drawing them is very therapeutic and helps take your mind off things.

All were drawn with Sakura pens, then shaded with an HB pencil and a paper stump. However, any fine nibbed pen will do and you can use your finger to smudge the pencil shading if you don't have a paper stump to hand.

Trying out a new swirly Tangle
in my notebook.

More tangling - looks a bit like a tattoo!

Have a wonderfully creative day.
