Snippets Playground - Anyone fancy a coffee?

Hi Playmates!

It's been such lovely weather this week, that we've had tonnes of fun running around playing 'Tag, You're It". All that running around has fair worn me out - so it's up to the Treehouse for some refreshments!

In the Sunday Morning Breakfast Club we'll be enjoying croissants & hot cross buns, heated up in the microwave, plus as much tea or coffee as you can manage. Here's hoping you remembered to put your clocks forward if you're in the UK! 

I'm hosting a new challenge over at the SNIPPETS PLAYGROUND for the next fortnight. This is your opportunity to use up snippets (scraps/leftovers) in your creative projects, then skip over to the Playground for a 'show and tell' via Mr Linky.

For my homework this week I made a gatefold card with a coffee theme and a vintage vibe!

The card measures 5.5" square

Details: 

• 11" x 5.5" piece of white card scored at 2.75" each side to create the gatefold shape.
• Patterned paper snippets: two panels, each measuring 2.25" x 5"; a square measuring 2.25" x 2.25". A further piece to stamp the mug on and fussy cut (optional).
• 2 x square snippets of white card: one measuring 2.75" x 2.75", the other 2" x 2".
• Coffee mug from the Tim Holtz "Fresh Brewed" (THMB025) stamp set by Stampers Anonymous. The mug was stamped onto the smallest white square, then again onto a snippet of the patterned paper, fussy cut and glued over the stamped image. This was layered up and mounted as shown in the photo, ensuring only the left hand side of the central panel was glued on to the left hand panel of the main card.
• Coffee bean stamps from an Aall & Create set were added at opposing corners.

While I was making one coffee-themed gatefold card . . . I decided to make another - see below:

Same measurements as the first card for the gatefold. I altered the dimensions of the middle piece to suit the size of the coffee cup and sentiment. The card front was double stencilled - first with Aall & Create Cloister Grille in a light brown, then with Funky Fossil's retired Caffeine Buzz stencil in a darker brown ink. The coffee cup is by Uniko, stamped in brown ink and the flower coloured in with 2 shades of orange Tombow pens. The central panel (made entirely from snippets) was stuck to the left hand gate!

Hi Playmates!

Di and I have been busy spring cleaning the treehouse and tidying up after you hooligans. There were a lot of empty glass bottles for some reason and the recycling bin is pretty full!

There's a brand new challenge to play along with over at the SNIPPETS PLAYGROUND hosted by Miss Di for the next fortnight.

Here's my homework - yes, it's another bird card (and there are more to come because I die cut lots of birds from snippets)!!!

Card measures 4.75" square

The die cut snippets I selected the 2 birds from.

Details:

• Unbranded bird dies from Temu used to cut some blue & grey snippets.
• A stamp from the “Be Different” IndigoBlu set by Asia Marquet was used  to ground the birds - stamped in VFC Sand Dune ink.
• Sentiment from a magazine cover gift long ago - part of a pair. Inside the card it says: "It's your birthday!"

So why not take a look at your own snippets and see what you can make . . . then come and play . . .  we're a friendly bunch. 

Sunday Snippets - Friends always

Hi Playmates!

Well - it's been a wonderfully sunny week in the Snippets Playground, but a tad cold, so it's still coats, scarves and mittens - until we get hot running around playing tag, or skipping with our ropes!

For my homework, I have a CAS card using up some of the snippets that were on my desk after grabbing a load of smaller pieces of card and getting busy with my Big Shot!

I'm also entering this card into the current Allsorts Challenge No. 818 where the optional theme is Clean And Simple (CAS). 

Card measures 4.75" square

Birds and branch chosen from
these selected snippets.

Details:

• Everything on the card front is a snippet
• Stampin' Up! Pool Party and So Saffron snippets of card were used to die cut the birds and branch which were then glued to the card front.
• I think the 'Friends Always' sentiment is by Penny Black and is probably long retired. It was stamped in Pool Party ink.
• Tiny birds die = "Resting Birds" by Memory Box (98527)

Well! What a smashing fortnight we've had over in the Playground, celebrating the 500th challenge - eating, drinking and generally making merry (especially with that Tequila Trifle! Hic!).

I'm hosting a new challenge over at the SNIPPETS PLAYGROUND for the next fortnight. This is your opportunity to use up your snippets (scraps/leftovers), then come over to the Playground for a 'show and tell' via Mr Linky.

For my homework I have a very CAS card in blue and grey, using just two snippets out of a pile that I die cut! I have a new set of bird dies (there are 9 different birds in the set), so expect to see lots more cards with birds on!

A6 card

Details:

• Both die cuts on the card front are snippets. 
• SU Basic Grey card for the unbranded bird die.
• SU Pool Party card for the Heffy Doodle Stitched Rectangle die that the bird is grounded with.
• Have forgotten who made the sentiment (as it's such an old stamp), but I inked it up in matching SU colours.
• The set of 9 bird dies cost £2.20 from Temu (sorry Mr Holtz, it was just too tempting!).

This card also fits in nicely with Helen's CAS theme over at the Allsorts Challenge #818, so I'm entering it over there too.
