Butterfly thank you card

Today I have a collage style card to share with you.

I was inspired to make this after seeing a lovely card by Cecile Ribon on Pinterest, so I CASED it.

My version - A6 sized card

CECILE RIBON'S original card is below:

The card I CASED

  • Rectangle Frame die by Heffy Doodle
  • Leafy sprig from the Hidden Foliage die set by Sizzix
  • SU background “paint stripe” stamp from long-retired set (I can't remember the name of it)

Sunday Snippets - “Love" Collage Card

Hi Playmates!

I'm hosting a new challenge over at the SNIPPETS PLAYGROUND for the next fortnight. This is your opportunity to use up some snippets, then come over to the Playground for a 'show and tell' via Mr Linky.

For my homework this week I was in the mood to create some collage, so I grabbed my junk journal shoebox and found little snippets of paper which I arranged and then glued to the card front.

MATERIALS:

  • Everything on the card front is a snippet from my junk journal shoebox. I used snippets of patterned paper; book pages; a leaflet; packaging and a Visible Image flower that had been stamped onto a snippet of copy paper, so I coloured it in and added it as the focal point.
  • The “love” word is a snippet from the Warm Breeze Craft O’Clock paper pack.

Psst: There are extra prizes to be won in the December challenges at the Snippets Playground - so there are even more reasons to use up your snippets than usual!

Sunday Snippets - more collage!

Hi Playmates!

Last Sunday, I mentioned you would be seeing more collage cards . . . and true to my word . . . here's another!

I put the collage together using snippets from my Junk Journal shoe box of odds and ends (as before) - choosing complementary tones.

5" x 7" card

The starting point was the snippet of silhouette flowers stamped onto white card and inked around the edges, followed by grouping some torn snippets around it. I added the Tim Holtz Small Talk stickers to finish it off, then glued it to the card front.

Di has published RESULTS from the previous challenge, so please hop over to the SNIPPETS PLAYGROUND to admire her top picks and discover who won the prize. There's still another week left to play in the current challenge if you haven't already done so. The conker contest is in full swing!

Sunday Snippets - Junk Journal Collage

Hi Playmates!

Conkers at the ready! We're doing it the old-fashioned way without any safety goggles or gloves!

For the next fortnight, I'm hosting the SNIPPETS PLAYGROUND challenge. So take a look at your pile of snippets (I KNOW you have some), make something with them, then come and play - and remember to bring your best conker on a string!

I have been messing about with some of my junk journal snippets and made this collage which I then added to a card front.

I created a 5" x 7" WHITE card blank, then covered the front of it with brown parcel paper (as I didn't have any Kraft card at the time).

I was inspired to use the parcel paper after absent mindedly putting the collage down on top of a Kraft envelope that was lying on my desk, while I was searching for a suitably coloured background to add the collage to!

Turns out brown parcel paper was the perfect choice as nothing else "worked" as well after I'd seen it sitting on top of the Kraft envelope!

5" x 7" card

Materials:

  • Lots of snippets from the shoe box where I keep my Junk Journal bits and bobs. The collage includes a stamped and cut out Aall & Create heart; gelli print piece and torn snippets of random stamping and papers.
  • The hand painted circle was the starting point of the collage and I just keep adding little bits to it, here and there, until I was happy.
Close up of the collage before I glued it to the card front!

This was really fun to make and I keep practising piecing these little collages together, so expect to see a few more cards using collage!

Sarn on Sunday!

Hi Playmates!

I have published RESULTS from the previous challenge, so please hop over to the SNIPPETS PLAYGROUND to admire the top picks and discover which lucky playmate won the prize.

Meanwhile, here's a card full of collage for you to feast your eyes on!

Card measures 3¼" x 4¾"

The entire card is made from snippets of left over card and paper from other projects, all glued into place on the card front, including a leafy die-cut that was waiting to be used up.

The paddling pool has been a very popular hang out in the Snippets Playground during the UK heatwave this week, plus I've been adding extra ice to the Treehouse cocktails. It's all good!

Wishing you a very happy day.

New Snippets Playground Challenge 20th Aug to 2nd Sept

Hi Playmates

There's a new challenge to join in with over at the SNIPPETS PLAYGROUND with yours truly in charge for the next fortnight. Why not use up some snippets and come over to play?

I've been playing with some jelly. Oops, no, I mean I've been playing with my gelli PLATE! (Not sure that sounds much better really!!!).

In any case, I made a gelli print which I stamped all over, intending to make it into a pocket! Unfortunately, I was a bit too enthusiastic with my scissors, which meant I couldn't fold the pocket up properly. So, I salvaged what I could of the print and (so far) I've made a few ATCs with it:

The 2¼" x 3¼" gelli print snippet has been stamped, then
a leafy stencil was used with DOX inks for a focal point.
The Tim Holtz sticker was brushed with ink, then glued on.
All mounted onto a snippet of Alpen box packaging!
I stamped circles and a few splatters over the
Alpen box packaging "kraft" card, then added a
small snippet of the salvaged gelli print to the left and
some punched flowers to the right.
Flat back gems were glued to the flower centres.
A tiny snippet of the same salvaged gelli print is at the
bottom left of this ATC. The whole ATC front (from packaging) was covered
with a coloured book page snippet which had been gessoed first.
Writing and leaf sprig added freehand.
Just a couple of bits of the salvaged gelli print snippets.

That's all from me today folks! Keep on using up those pretty snippets of yours, then come and play in the SNIPPETS PLAYGROUND.

Di has a snippets card to share with you HERE along with the latest Pupdate on Dudley's antics.
