January Rudolph Day - Christmas Penguin

Hi there!

Okay, so Rudolph Day was yesterday . . . but you have until the end of the month to join in with the challenge HERE.

On this card, I used a torn piece of paper with a blender brush and light blue ink to create the snowscape. Then I brushed the same blue ink through a few stencils. The penguin is a snippet that I coloured and cut out a little while back, and the "Christmas" word and "25th" stamps are from a new stamp set I acquired from Hobby Art, who recently stopped trading. As a final touch I added Washi tape to the left hand edge.

MATERIALS:

• Funky Fossil Washi Tape at the left hand edge.
• "Christmas" word and "25th" by Hobby Art from their "Christmas Post" stamp set. I coloured the sentiment in with blue Tombow marker pens.
• Geometric Flowers stencil by Funky Fossil and an unknown make for the swirly stencil.
• Torn paper used as a mask to create the snowscape with light blue ink and a brush.
• AALL & Create Penguin from set #604, stamped onto a white SNIPPET and coloured in with watercolour pencils. The penguin was cut out and glued to the card front.

For my homework, I made another guitar card for a friend of the guitarist in my life!

A6 sized card

I would like to enter this card into the current ALLSORTS CHALLENGE #841 - under their theme of “For Boys or Men”.

Materials:

• Stamps: Sentiment from a retired SU stamp set; guitar inc background (all one stamp) from the Rock n Roll set by Funky Fossil.
• Inks: SU Basic Grey ink for the guitar stamp. A few brown Distress Inks to colour the guitar itself.
• Dies: Retired stitched circles from The Works; retired Stitched Rectanges from Heffy Doodle.
• Snippets: The circular sentiment; the white image panel and a larger brown snippet trimmed to fit.

There's a new challenge to play along with over at the SNIPPETS PLAYGROUND hosted by Miss Di for the next fortnight.

For my homework this week,  I made a little love-themed ATC.

I stamped and stencilled a background on a white snippet that was trimmed to 2.25" x 3.25", then stamped and cut out the lovehearts from another white snippet and glued them on to the base. A black snippet trimmed to 2.5” x 3.5” was used for the mount.

• Hearts from Accessorize Stamp set by Visible Image (stamped twice onto white snippets and cut out by hand)
• Script stamp by IndigoBlu
• Bold LOVE stamp - unknown make
• Smaller Love stamp by Uniko
• Dot stencil by The Crafters Workshop
• White Gelli Roll 08 pen for heart highlights
• Picked Raspberry Distress Ink for all pink areas on card

I would like to enter this ATC into the January TAG ALONG & ATC CHALLENGE where there is a Love and Romance theme (or an “anything goes” option).

Doodling with torn paper snippets . . .

Something VERY quirky from me today!

I saw something on Pinterest which showed tiny bits of brown paper with doodling around their shape. This piqued my interest, so - I thought I’d have a go myself! I would link to the Pinterest post, but I can’t find it anywhere now, despite searching!

Here’s the final results, made into cards:

The process I used was to find a few brown paper snippets (never a problem, I have loads of brown paper snippets). Then I tore them into small pieces and stamped them randomly with the Funky Fossil “Shoot for the stars” text stamp. Once they were glued to a piece of A4 printer paper, I simply doodled around them and cut them out ready to add to cards.

but I’m sure you get the idea from this one.

These were the doodles that made the Final Cut - but then, I
didn’t like what I made with the “mouse” or the “toucan”, so they
got binned!

Sunday Snippets - Masculine Card

I needed a masculine card for the guitarist in my life - so here’s what I came up with - a box card with a hinged sentiment.

• Sentiment from an old set by Stampin Up
• Bottom edge swirl from the Funky Fossil Rock n Roll set
• Sizzix circle dies used for the hinged sentiment
• Snippets: white card and SU Sahara Sand card used for the panels and sentiment

Coffee Love!

I made a little ATC which I would like to enter into the January TAG ALONG & ATC CHALLENGE where the theme is Love and Romance. 

Well, I LOVE decent coffee! If that’s too “out there” as an interpretation of the theme, there’s always the ANYTHING GOES option!

• Background Stencil: Ink Swirls by Visible Image.
• Focal point:Coffee Cup stamp = magazine cover gift, stuck to ATC with foam pads. Brown ink and waterbrush used to ground image.
• Words by Clearly Besotted (retired set)
• Heart from the Accessorize set by Visible Image (stamped, cut out and stuck on with foam pads).

Some bunny loves you . . .

Here's a little ATC that started life as a white snippet of card. It's a lots more colourful now!  

I’d like to enter this into the TAG ALONG & ATC JANUARY CHALLENGE where the theme is LOVE AND ROMANCE. Hopefully this little 'bunny hugs' image will qualify for the “love” part of the theme - but if not, there’s always the anything goes option!

Details:

• Little Cotton Rabbits stamp by Sugar Nellie (from 2008), stamped in VersaFine Onyx Black and heat embossed on a snippet of white card. Image coloured with Distress Inks and a waterbrush. 
• Hugs word is from a Clearly Besotted set. The stamp says “Sending hugs” . . . but I masked off the "sending” word and stamped only the "hugs" part of the sentiment.
• A gold pen was used all around the edges of the ATC.

Sunday Snippets - Altenew Rose Cards

Hi Playmates!

Wishing you a very Happy New Year. I hope 2026 is good to you.

For my homework, I CASED a card that the wonderfully talented Viv made back in March last year. I just love this Altenew stamp set and ended up making 2 more cards with it while I had it sat sitting on the desk!

Card measures 5” square

Details:

• Stamps: Altenew Beautiful Day stamp set for ALL stamping on the above card.
• Inks: SU Calypso Coral; Lucky Limeade; Certainly Celery, Basic Grey & Smokey Slate. As well as Mustard Seed & Wild Honey Distress Inks.
• Snippets: all the coloured foliage and flower are stamped onto white snippets of card.
