Adventures in Gelli Printing (1)

Hi Friends

Tried out my 6" round gel plate for the first time the other day, and got my 8" x 10" plate out while I was at it! Want to see what I got up to? This post is a bit photo heavy, so you might want to grab a cuppa!

Here are the cards first:

2 x greetings cards and an ATC

Materials:

  • A few gel prints made with acrylic paints, leaves and a brayer.
  • Bird silhouette die by The Works.
  • Leafy circle die "Circle of Leaves" by Simon Says Stamp (recently given to me by a very kind friend).
  • Leafy sprig on the ATC - part of a leaf die by Pink & Main called "Leafy Dies 1" (recently given to me by the same very kind friend - don't you just love happy mail?!)

Here are two masculine cards made with the blue circle gelli print:

Apologies for the ATC turning up again in this photo!

Here are the gel prints I made beforehand

  • Today's cards come from the 6" blue circle and the 8"x10" orange/pink print. I'll show you the cards made with the top golden circle in another post.

The orange/pink leafy die on the ATC comes from middle print shown below:

Here's an envelope I made with the bottom gel print shown in the above picture. It's so pretty IRL:

It's VERY easy to get carried away making lots of prints and then you find yourself wondering what to do with them all - so I thought I'd share a few ideas here.

Please come back next Wednesday for another post on my gelli printing adventures!

  1. Wow - it is so interesting to see what you've done with some of your gel prints, so imaginative. You'e so right about getting carried away producing loads of backgrounds and then wondering what to do with them. Really looking forward to seeing what else you make. Definitely a craft room day today - very dark, dreary and WET here'🙄🙄

  2. Wow Sarn these are really pretty, funky and so imaginative. I do keep wondering whether to invest in some acrylic paints but what with all my other “wants” I don’t go there .. but the results are spectacular!

  3. Indeed it is easy to get carried away Sarn, when there's still ink on a plate you have to keep going, then add a bit more colour and one thing leads to another. Lovely to see all your prints and card and lovely intense colours.

  8. Wow!!
    Abbracci!

  12. Yep, definitely hands up to producing 12 backgrounds at once. I LOVE the envelope, that might be a way to use up some of my 'art'.

  13. These are fabulous Sarn and it's interesting to see the variety of projects you've made with them. It must be great to be able to rifle through some you've saved when you need a print for a new project. Sending hugs, Vicky xxx
